Discovery Gradhack

The Discovery Graduate Hackathon is a virtual innovation challenge designed for IT students from South African universities. This event is an immersive work experience that brings together talented students to solve real-world problems using technology. The hackathon is a unique opportunity for students to collaborate, ideate, and develop innovative solutions that can make a meaningful impact.

The Discovery Graduate Hackathon is a premier event that aims to foster innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among IT students. The event is hosted by Discovery, a leading insurance organization in South Africa, and offers a platform for students to showcase their skills, learn from industry experts, and develop solutions that can address real-world challenges.

The hackathon is open to 50 IT students from South African universities, who will be selected to participate in the event. The students will be divided into teams and will work together to develop innovative solutions using technology. The top 3 teams will be invited to present their ideas to a judging panel at the Discovery headquarters in Sandton.

The winning team will receive a cash prize of R12,500 per team member, and the winning university will receive a cash prize of R50,000. In addition, participating students will also have the opportunity to be permanently employed at Discovery.
